Arkansas Sustainability Network (ASN) is a non-profit educational organization. Our mission is to develop more sustainable communities through education, innovation, and collaboration. We were founded in 2006 to encourage community collaboration and progress towards a healthy social, economic, and environmental future. What does sustainable mean and what is sustainability? Sustainable development meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their needs. Needs that include:
Sustainable development ties together concern for our natural systems with social challenges facing our community and humanity. Sustainability is a process of analyzing and improving the development of all aspects of human life affecting sustenance. It means resolving conflicts between various competing goals, and involves the simultaneous pursuit of economic prosperity, environmental quality and social equity. ASN strives to address aspects of sustainable development through our programs and projects. We promote understanding of sustainability and awareness of local, national, and international resources that assist us in achieving the goals of sustainable development. We welcome your involvement, and may be contacted anytime by phone or email, or through our contact page. Thank you and please check our site often for updates and additional information.
