The first annual Natural State Expo was held in 2006 as the premier initiative of the Arkansas Sustainability Network. Event participants ranged from eco-friendly insulation and tankless hot water heaters, to community gardens and small farmers, to electric-hybrid vehicles and bicycle advocacy organizations. Both events treated attendees to interactive booths and family friendly educational activities. The 2007 event featured Innovation Alley, a youth component where young people showcased their eco-knowledge. The first two annual events welcomed thousands of visitors and introduced them to a plethora of green businesses and community resources.
